Well, here we are.

Lake Whatcom on a Sunny Day with some fluffy white clouds

Even when you wander randomly into a new situation, you’re bringing all your life experience and current expectations to the moment. Random Acts of Tourism is an attempt to bring curiosity, wonder, and honesty to life’s everyday events. I want to actively search out the novel, drive insight and where possible, meaningful results. This site is my office and through it I hope to share interesting ideas in content strategy, events management, and a little food & fun. #IYKYK

Where have I been?

My 30 years in the development and management of content about technology (sales, marketing, training, and compliance) has been a trip across the digital chasm. Looking back across, I marvel at how far content management technologies and practices have come. I’m really looking forward to seeing how they will enable the way forward.

I have built content for four companies that subsequently sold. While I know correlation is not causation, there are people who will say my content programs contributed to successful sales of technology companies. One of the buyers of one of those companies received royalty payments for content I created for several years. This kind of record means something to someone. I’m more about the experience and lessons I learned.

Still plugging away

Content, for me, is the foundation of an organization’s success in pleasing, growing and retaining their audience. It cuts across all the functions. It is the way a group communicates, educates, and delivers value to its audience. I hope to have a lot of fun helping teams of people plan, deliver, manage, and maintain their content.

I want to help people build flexible systems to engage others with content. It’s necessary and it can be an interesting, enlightening, challenging, and fun time.

Why, yes, I do have services available.

So, if you know of someone who would benefit from working with me, please reach out and let me know. If you are looking for more information on my career to date, please check out my LinkedIn profile.
